Our urban communities are open for the harvest. Jesus said,“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.”

San Diego is the 8th largest city in the United States and the 2nd largest city in California. Over 3 million people county wide and 1 million people live in the city of San Diego. Families in our community are facing financial, educational, social and spiritual hardships.

Consider these facts:

•Within San Diego the unemployment rate is over 9%.
•6 out of 10 students enrolled in S.D.U.S.D. receive free lunches, which means a family of four makes less than $27,000 a year to qualify. With the cost of living so high here in San Diego, this is poverty level.
•S.D. has a 40% dropout rate.

How do we as a church respond to the needs of the marginalized?
We are looking for college students who are willing to spend a summer with us in San Diego, making a difference among the needy.

What will you do?
You will be a part of a T.E.A.M. (together everyone achieves more). This T.E.A.M. will live and serve together during the summer. They will participate in four areas of ministry:

•Training: Students will have an opportunity to be equipped for ministry in an educational, formal setting. This training will help you discover your gifts, mission, vision and values. You will learn how to asset map your community, design outreach programs, to develop a ministry strategic plan and how to implement it. These tools will assist you in all areas of life.
• Evangelism: Students will have opportunities to share the gospel in multiple settings, on the street with the homeless, in low income hotels, sports camps, Vacation Bible School, youth programs or through community outreach events.
•Assists: Student will have opportunities to assist families and the community through Urban renewal projects, which consist of fixing or painting homes, graffiti removal or community projects with the city.
• Mentor: Students will have opportunities to build relationships with adults and youth through discipleship opportunities.
